Hooves Tutorial
Step 1 : Prime the hoof by painting white acrylic over the hoof. Allow to dry.
Step 2 : A base color of acrylic paint is added first. Then, use a slightly darker shade for the pastel. Dust the pastel onto the hoof, concentrating on the tip of the hoof the most.
Step 3 : Add more pastel in increasingly darker shades. Again, make the tip of the hoof darker than the rest.
Step 4 : With pastel pencils, make horizontal lines on the hoof. Start at the top of the hoof and decrease the stripes as you move down the hoof. Use a combination of colors if you wish (white, black, and some brown is used here).
Step 5 : Blend and soften the pencil lines by dusting pastel over the top. Use your last darkest shade, or a darker one if you choose.
Step 6 : Seal the hoof with your sealant spray (Matte finish). When it dries, use clear nail polish to gloss the hoof.
