My name is Kris Apelgren and I have been involved in the model horse hobby for about 8 years. I began painting in 2002 and actively selling and advertising my work in 2004. So far its been a good run. I am constantly improving in my artistic ablility and I'm hoping to make it to the "big leagues" someday.
I do not have my own horses, which is why I turned to the hobby. But I have volunteered at the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center for several years and still counting. Currently I am also part of their staff. I work with people with disabilities, but mostly I work with the horses. Every horse has their own personality and I love each and every one of them.
I am also currently a college student. I am attending Baker College in Muskegon, MI to study veterinary technology.
So what does does "Liepa" mean???
"Liepa" is Latvian for "Linden tree". I am half Latvian, and my culture is very close to me. I chose a Linden tree because it stands for peace and serenity.
